Christmas in January

In December, a call was received from the owner of a day care center concerning a young student who has Down’s syndrome. The child had become very ill over the Holidays and the parents needed to take time off from work because the child was in the hospital for several weeks. With the loss of income and the additional expenses required for medications the family fell behind in their rent. People for People approved a grant of $400 to pay for the rent. Gene Lilly from “Toys for Tots” was contacted. He immediately put together toys for us to deliver to the child since the family had not been able to afford a Christmas.
